ADHD Assessment Process

At Eytan Woolfson Psychology, our ADHD assessments follow a thorough and evidence-based process to help understand each person’s strengths, challenges, and everyday functioning. We assess children, adolescents, and adults using well-established clinical tools.

The assessment begins with a detailed clinical interview. For children, this includes meeting with parents or caregivers to explore developmental history, behaviour, learning, and current concerns. For adolescents and adults, we discuss symptoms, daily functioning, and how difficulties may have changed over time.

We then gather information from the important people in the individual’s life. Parents, teachers, and the individual themselves complete standardised questionnaires—usually the Conners-4 and the Vineland-3. These help us understand attention, behaviour, emotional regulation, and adaptive skills across different settings.

Cognitive testing is also part of the process. Children typically complete the WISC-V, while adolescents and adults complete the WAIS-IV. These assessments provide insight into learning profiles, cognitive strengths, and factors that may influence attention or academic performance.

To further explore ADHD symptoms, we complete a semi-structured interview using the DIVA-5. This helps assess the presence and impact of ADHD symptoms across both childhood and adulthood in a clear and consistent manner.

Once all components are complete, we arrange a feedback session to go through the results together. During this session, we discuss the findings, answer questions, and outline practical recommendations. You will also receive a written report summarising the assessment results and next steps.
