EMDR
What is EMDR?
At Eytan Woolfson Psychology, we offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process distressing memories, trauma, and emotional pain in a safe, supported environment. EMDR supports clients to gradually reduce the emotional intensity of painful experiences and develop healthier, more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their experiences.

How EMDR Works
During EMDR therapy, you will be guided to recall a troubling memory while receiving bilateral stimulation (commonly subtle eye movements, tapping or auditory tones). This process helps the brain re-process the memory — allowing you to think about the event without reliving the full emotional distress. Over time, many people find that painful memories lose their power and feel more like distant, manageable events.
