A good assessment should do more than produce a diagnosis. It should give you and your family a genuine understanding of what's going on, and a clear set of recommendations you can act on straight away, whether that's at home, at school or with other specialists.
We offer three core assessment types, for children, adolescents and adults. All our assessments include a detailed feedback session and a written report with practical recommendations for home, school and any relevant specialists.
ADHD Assessment
If attention, focus or impulsivity are getting in the way of everyday life, at home, at school or at work, a formal ADHD assessment can offer real clarity. We take a thorough, evidence-based approach so you leave with more than a label.
You'll leave with a genuine understanding of how ADHD shows up for that particular person, and what actually helps.
Who this is for: children, adolescents and adults, whether this is a first assessment or an update or second opinion.
What's involved:
A detailed clinical interview with the client and, for children and teens, their parents or carers.
Standardised questionnaires and rating scales, often including input from teachers or other relevant adults.
Cognitive and attention-based testing where appropriate.
A comprehensive written report outlining findings and practical recommendations.
A feedback session to talk through the results together and answer your questions.
After your assessment we provide clear, practical recommendations for home and school, and can liaise with GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists or schools where needed.
If medication or further specialist input is relevant, we'll help guide the next steps.
Cognitive & IQ Assessment
Cognitive assessments give us a detailed picture of intellectual strengths and areas that might benefit from extra support.
They're often used to understand giftedness, learning difficulties, school placement decisions, or simply to build a clearer picture of how someone thinks, reasons and problem solves.
Who this is for: children, adolescents and adults, including families exploring school entry or placement decisions, giftedness, or difficulties keeping up in the classroom or workplace.
What's involved:
A clinical interview to understand your reasons for seeking assessment and relevant background.
Standardised, age-appropriate cognitive testing (such as recognised IQ measures).
Analysis of strengths, weaknesses and how these show up in everyday functioning.
A detailed written report with practical, real-world recommendations.
A feedback session to walk through the results together.
After your assessment we'll help translate results into practical next steps, whether that's classroom adjustments, enrichment opportunities, or further referral.
Reports can be shared with schools and other professionals with your consent.
Learning Disorder Assessment
When a child (or adult) is struggling with reading, writing or maths in a way that doesn't match their overall ability, a learning disorder assessment can identify what's really going on and what will genuinely help.
Who this is for: cchildren and adolescents who are finding aspects of school harder than expected, as well as adults who suspect an undiagnosed learning difficulty may be affecting their work or study.
What's involved:
A clinical interview covering developmental, educational and family history.
Standardised academic and cognitive testing, tailored to the areas of concern (such as reading, written expression or maths).
Consideration of co-occurring difficulties, including ADHD and other neurodevelopmental factors.
A comprehensive written report with school-ready recommendations.
A feedback session to explain the findings clearly.
After your assessment we provide practical recommendations for classroom support, learning adjustments and, where appropriate, funding or support applications.
